What does plastic barrier do?
The barrier layer embedded in between PE layers of a laminated tube can be either aluminum or plastic. When EVOH is used as a barrier in between 3-5 PE layers of a laminated tube, it is referred to as a plastic barrier laminated tube. Thus there is no aluminum used in this tube. It is this material that prevents contamination of contents inside the tube because of oxygen, moisture, and UV rays of sun.
The reason why plastic barrier is preferred over aluminum by our clients is that tubes are better able to retain their shape during their lifetime. These tubes maintain their shape even after contents have been squeezed out of them.
